The set includes a set of optical accessories, a quality carrying bag and an adjustable smartphone holder.
The KONUSTART-700B 60/700 AZ telescope kit includes 2 glasses, a double Barlow lens, a rotating 1.5x lens for "terrestrial" image orientation and a diagonal mirror for displaying the image vertically. Unlike a rotating lens, a mirror does not magnify objects, does not introduce additional distortions, and is more convenient to use. But for ground observations, it is used infrequently, because the resulting image is mirrored. However, when studying celestial bodies close to the zenith, a diagonal mirror will come in handy.
The focal length of the Konus KONUSTART-700B telescope is 70 cm, so with the included glasses it will work at multiples of 88x (H8) and 35x (H20). A reserve of "useful" magnification (120x) allows you to equip the model with more powerful glasses with a focal length of 5.8 mm. Installing a rotary lens in the focuser will increase the focal length of the telescope by 1.5 times, while the working multiplicities of the eyepieces will be 132x and 52x. Using a 2x Barlow lens, the glasses will generate magnification - 176x and 70x, but it is worth considering that any additional elements in the optical path significantly reduce the quality of the picture.
The model is mounted on an easy-to-use alt-azimuth mount, which is attached to a two-section aluminum tripod. The length of the legs is adjustable in a wide range — from 69 to 116 cm, which allows you to choose the height of the tripod for both an adult user and a child.
The refractor is equipped with a RedDOT finder to facilitate pointing the cursor at the selected point in the sky. To familiarize yourself with the location of the most interesting celestial objects, the package includes star and lunar maps.
